Internet Helps

We are all familiar with the Internet, it is the interconnected network of systems or computers which helps them to talk to each other.
We can browse and get the data's which are kept somewhere else in the world, instantly at our fingertips. But now we have even overcome this and making the Internet a way to express our emotions, feelings and our day to day activities.
Through the help of social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut, MySpace and blogs we are getting close to our kins, friends and sharing our daily activities with them. It is helping us in many ways. But, I found its perspicacious and sagacious use in ways of helping people in Japan hit Tsunami.
The 11th March is the disaster for Japan as well as the World. Many people lost their life or their beloved ones. Even some of people locations are still unknown.
Searching of the people on Google, Facebook,Twitter or their local variant is becoming more useful in finding people. They are helping to know about their friends location and making them to alleviate their anxiety about their well being.
I came across an article where a guy from India was trapped in a building of Tokyo and was updating his status in Facebook, when the earthquake still vacillating his office building, so his friends can be in contact with him and can know about his conditions. This is just one of the way Internet is helping us to know about our colleagues. Now we have many sites where the people can report about their kin's missing or can know about them. This sites are updating by thousands every minute. A service is now also being posted in Twitter allowing people the chance to donate to the Red Cross via text messages, the donation will be added to phone bills. The Relief campaign also adding a lot to help this way.
I am just thinking of the days when there were no Internet, this situation could become worse. Thanks
to this Internet which is changing our world and making it a better and healthy place to live in.
